Personal Opinion/Review #3: Wallbanger By Alice Clayton

Wallbanger (Cocktail, #1)

This is not of my normal young adult genre, it was a recommendation of a sales rep and the book store. I am not usually a reader of adult books, I more enjoy an easier quick read that doesn’t require much thinking. I didn’t expect much from this book when I picked it up, it has been on the TBR pile for a long time. I picked it up off the shelf recently and read the back of the cover, the comments and synopsis made it out to be a fun read. THAT WAS JUST THE ESCAPE I NEEDED!!

I want to start by saying this book was a huge shock, it was the best of both worlds, it read like a trashy young adult but the characters made you actually feel like the adult I truly am. Clayton has an amazing writing style and I looked the cheesy romance from the beginning. Caroline the main character was a strong independent woman, with Simon being your typical bachelor; together they make a story that was very difficult to put down.

Clayton left my face sore from the smile plastered on my face throughout the read and it will probably take years to undo the laugh lines she has added to my face. Wallbanger is a great read and everyone should add it to their TBR piles or shelves and get to it when they need a good laugh or a cheesy romance story.

I should mention a warning that the later half of this book does contain a more graphic telling of adult content, that the first half makes humorous and shies past.

I hope you enjoyed my escape and find one of your own – keep on reading. 🙂
